The Mountain Lake Ambulance service is composed of on-call 24/7 basic life support trained Emergency Medical Technicians and two ambulances. Primary hospital is Windom Area Hospital.

The Mountain Lake Fire Department has around 20 trained volunteer fire fighters and equipment for fire-fighting and rescue.

The City of Mountain Lake is accepting applications for a Full Time Police Officer. Applicants must be MN POST licensed or eligible to be licensed at time of hiring.
